Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1:00 p.m. e.d.t we'll be holding the next session of
#smchat, a real-time Twitter based discussion about social media.
Each week Twitter users from around the world gather online to answer questions and share ideas about social media using the Twitter hashtag #smchat.
#smchat is "A discussion on the power of social media among active practitioners and strategists. Anyone interested in driving value from online interaction and collaboration is welcome. Be ready for a discussion that's sometimes technical but always lively. We explore dynamics of social & professional interaction, twitter, online communities, and the evolution of knowledge networks "
In other words, #smchat covers many of the topics we discuss here with the Cleveland Social Media Club.
You can view the discussion in progress and take a peek at this week's questions at
http://wthashtag.com/Smchat. We're also setting up a Ning site for the group so there will be some discussion on the role of that site for the group.
There are many ways to participate in Twitter chats, but I've found that Tweetgrid works particularly well. If you go to
http://tweetgrid.com/search?q=%23smchat then put #smchat in the hashtag box and login with your Twitter username and password you can easily follow the discussion, reply to specific Tweets and reTweet messages, without the distraction of viewing unrelated Tweets. You can also follow the discussion by setting up a Twitter search on #smchat on the Web or as a Tweetdeck column or via the official hashtag page at
http://wthashtag.com/Smchat.
I hope you can join us to share your thoughts and meet other social media Tweeters.
Real-time Twitter chats are held each week on a wide variety of topics ranging from blogging to poetry. If you are interested in using Twitter to chat about other subjects, visit this
