I just received my 1st referral from someone following me on Twitter. @frankyz669 knew of my franchise expertise, and knows that I am a member of this fine group. He is too.
Absolutely, just like the Internet itself, this social media stuff is going nowhere!
It's funny, I still have a few friends who are social media hold-outs (won't even join LinkedIn or Facebook). I'm pretty sure one of them thinks I've gone into loco-introvert mode for spending so much time on the stuff. (And is probably concerned for my well-being.) Meanwhile I'm sharing ideas with peers all over the planet as well as getting to meet many of you in the real world. The new tools are allowing us to connect far more productively than ever before. I find it fascinating to be a part of it all.
I have a few friends who are the same way. But the more they miss out on the online discussions, photo shares, etc. between me and our friends the greater the attraction. they eventually gave in.
As soon as something compelling drags them into a space I kind of understand why there is a hesitation.
